Food share
The Food Share program is sponsored by Save-On-Foods. Every Friday of the year, ‘Ksan Place receives contributions and in-kind donations of dairy products, vegetables, fruit, breads, and other bakery items that are nearing their best before date. Food is sorted, cleaned, and redistribute to those in need by volunteers. People come for a coffee visit and a bowl of soup/chilli and pick up a bag or two of groceries to take home for their families.
People served 2,305 at Food Share. This includes 807 hrs of volunteer time contributed with 4 regular volunteers and 2 culinary volunteers gaining experience to contribute to their next level of training in becoming a Chef. We also have 4 occasional volunteers contributing 37 hours.
